Children’s Classes
Our Samurai Kids program provides a popular, proven curriculum designed to improve concentration, strength, balance, flexibility, self-awareness, coordination and endurance. The physical component of the course is supported by a teaching approach that uses positive reinforcement as the foundation for encouraging effort and achievement. Tae Kwon Do (TKD) is one of the very best training systems available as it incorporates simple, linear movements that are both functional and relatively easy for children to learn. TKD is easy to learn so children enjoy a sense of achievement and advancement that is reinforced by our motivating “Stars and Stripes” incentive and awards system. We stress the importance of character, conduct and personal safety in our children’s classes. At the beginning of each class, students recite our “Six Rules of Conduct” and the Stranger Danger Rule of the month.
In addition, our Samurai Kids program is designed to aid in the development of:
- Focus
- Anger Management
- Self-Confidence
- Self-Discipline
With programs, such as our Junior Leadership Team, younger students are provided positive and powerful role models. Drugs, alcohol and cigarettes are a threat to our value system. These role models, who are close in age to the younger students, give them a positive example and support system for making right choices to these threats. In addition to the physical training in the Martial Arts, our instructors have a sincere interest in the progress and development of each and every child at CMA. This environment contributes to the development in our students of a positive self-image and confidence.
